On-line Learning

Working at Home

Like distance learning, which commends itself because of its convenience and affordability, on-line learning offers you the freedom to choose the time and place in which you work. In any course involving creativity through the arts, time and space are needed for the 'growth process' to play its vital role. In this increasingly popular method, you can feel relaxed and at ease in the comfort of your own home and so, freed from travel and time constraints, you are at your creative 'best.'

The Growth Process

New ideas, and the levels of 'self discovery' which you will begin to experience from the moment you join a course, can be a 'life enhancing' experience for any student. You will be discovering too, new skills you had not realised you had, new ways of looking at yourself and others through dance. And as a result, the pace of your own 'inner growth' may astonish you! On-line learning offers you 'time to reflect' – and to grow!

How On-Line Learning Works

Once you have enrolled and your payment has gone through, we send by first-class post a full set of course material – 5 or 6 Units depending which course you choose.

Each Unit focusses on one or more scientific aspects which need to be especially understood. At the end of each Unit you will find a two-part question. The first part is to enable us to be sure you have understood the course material for that Unit, the second is an opportunity to design a short programme which your Tutor will evaluate, possibly with suggestions for further reading.

The feed-back provided by your Tutor will guide you as you prepare the next Unit. If additional reading is recommended, libraries or the internet usually provide most of what you need. But sometimes students like to build up a library of their own and prefer to buy some titles if they can.

There is a short workbook, 'Healing from Within', available on enrolment for an additional £10. This gives an idea of how some of our best students have tackled the questions, and any profit will go towards our work with overseas orphans.

How long does it take?

Each of our three current courses is designed to be completed in 12 weeks. (The study level of each, however, is clearly not the same.) That means, 2 weeks are allowed to complete each Unit. However there is no problem if you find you need more time. Just let us know. You have up to a year to complete the whole programme – we think that is quite a fair offer!

What is the point of writing down my ideas?

Students do not find writing down their ideas to be in the least boring! It is a process that pays dividends in the long run. As you begin to understand the scientific reasons why dance has such a long-established value in healing, you will also come to realise that it is important to be able to explain your method to other professionals with whom you may be working. Being able to set out your ideas clearly, and explain them efficiently, is not only your best guarantee of future co-operation from busy colleagues. It may also establish your true worth with your employers too.

Our Commitment to you

From the moment you start working on our courses until far into the future, our commitment is to 'be there' for you, encouraging you and showing ways in which you can move on.
